Why visit Glasgow?
The city of Glasgow is a stylish cosmopolitan city with a wealth of tourist attractions, bars, shopping and quality hotels. Glasgow Science Centre is one of the latest tourist attractions in Glasgow and is set alongside the famous river Clyde. The Science Centre includes Glasgow tower, which is the only freestanding structure in the world that can be turned 360 degrees from the base to face into the wind. There are many exhibitions within the science centre and the hands on displays are sure to keep kids young and old amused. There are plenty of facilities available within the centre including toilets and cafes.

The Transport Museum of Glasgow is one of the most popular tourist attractions with over half a million visitors each year. The museum captivates the imagination of young and old alike. The museum charts the history of all different forms of transport and includes locomotives such as Caledonian Railway Caley No123 single driver, the oldest bicycle in the world and many cars from all times and countries of the world. The Clyde room has hundreds of models and charts the history of shipbuilding in Glasgow during its heyday.

Shopping in Glasgow is abundant and Glasgow probably has the best selection of shops in Scotland. There are numerous streets and shopping centres within the city centre and it is possible to spend a whole day shopping if that's your thing. Breaking up the day, by going for something to eat or drink, is not a problem as there are many cafes, bars and restaurants within the city serving all manner of foods.

The Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow is the second most visited contemporary art gallery outside of London. Opened in 1996 the gallery has a range of exhibitions from internationally renowned artists as well as work from local artists. There are biannual events held and there is always something to see at the Gallery of Modern Art. Housed in an elegant, neo-classical building in the heart of Glasgow city centre that has been extensively refurbished.
